Although much of the country were on furlough during the coronavirus pandemic, Babcock Rail’s outdoor staff were still maintaining the nation’s railways. Guidelines with Two-metre Ted and Tess illustrations featured in posters all over Babcock Rail, SB Rail and Rail Systems Alliance worksites.

For staff working from home, a regular ‘Our People’ digital newsletter was issued every week with positive stories from Babcock workers. Further posters were eventually introduced for offices explaining social distancing rules. This material was vital for improving staff morale and trying to achieve minimal disruption from the virus.
